I used to play ping pong and my favorite bat, the "Friendship". Can you feel me, Z? |

myself, i started playing table tennis with a penhold grip playing a traditional style then changed to a handshake grip which like you said earlier give a more offensive backhand (bh) which can generate a top spin...but now i changed back playing with penhold grip but with an RPB which also gives me more option and can be more offensive on the counter... BTW karimpin how long does it takes for you to be comfortable changing grips from a penhold to a handshake grip...for me it took a year...and lots of kutip bola

Hi All.. I use a butterfly jpen sengkoh 7 & sriver rubber all my life. When RPB was a hit, I bought the 1st DH Hurricane Hao & thought of building a rpb bat.... but I scrapped the idea & sold it off because I got hook into tennis... lol.

wah a lot of ping pong sifu cum tennis sifu here...great crowd butterfly sriver will always be my favorite all time rubber, changed to xiom, DHS, nittaku, friendship, dawei but still i come back to sriver ... zdepth you should venture into RPB...i find it very easy to learn with the right grip that is... before tennis or table tennis i was a serious volleyball VB player (played this game for 10 years)...played for TM for 2 years...was coach for Celcom and PERKESO team...and at the end thought VB that is not for me due to injury on my knee...needed to play less strenous game and thus pick up table tennis...could play for hours as its very addictive... |

wow... u 2 are volleyball players too? I used to be a server & defensive player (libero) when I was playing in school last time. But I left out ping-pong for so long... used to play competitively back in 1984-1988. At that time, no speed glue, no sriver too, the best butterfly rubber at that time was Tempest. My childhood hero is Jiang Jia Liang & my favourite volleyball teams are USA for men & Cuba for women But after all the mainstream sports, I ventured into extreme sports like freeride mountain biking, skateboarding & drifting & never look back. Its just recently when I'm losing all my extreme sports friends that I ventured into Tennis. But ping-pong is good for our hand eye coordination & also great on rainy days
