Current string of choice, using Signum Tornado (1.23) on a Wilson Pro Staff 95, is reaally soft, I dare to say slightly softer than blackcode, however this is not a guarantee as I strung my k6.1 tour with Tecnifibre's Blackcode at 55 lbs, and the Pro Staff at 60lbs. My conclusion if you like feeling crispy goodness, ball on the strings on your racket, this string could be for you, its reaaly soft, what does 'soft' mean?!! To me your arm won't suffer the next day, like Luxilon users, but to be honest soft means you can string at a slightly higher tension, but it feels like you strung it at a low tension. If you string at 56lbs, your ball end result is 56lbs but it feels maybe 50-52 lbs tension, good for the arm. Spin potential wise, very good, always use new balls, to play, if your balls botak, no bulu, your shots start to land OUT coz the strings cannot grasp anything lol. |

WOw! Great insight praetorian! i had that string but i haven't yet to try it out as i only have 1 pack Here is my choice(s) of strings with respect to my rackets. APD(56lbs),2xAPDC(58lbs,60lbs) - Babolat Duralast 16L->As the name suggested. DURable & Lasting. My primary racket of choice. I've been using softer strings b4 but they got me really irritated as the strings move around even if it was freshly strung as its an open string pattern & a oversize profile. Need to go on a budget thus the Duralast. The moment the strings 'die' the tension lost stops. & it is pretty stable. Even during rainy conditions. PD+RDGT(58lbs) - Prosupex Blue Gear 18g-> 1st of all the color. It matches the racket perfectly. At the thinnest gauge, the stringbed feels lively even though its a full poly setup. & best of all ZERO string movement. PSGT(58lbs) - ProSupex Big Ace 18g->1st of once again.. the color. RED. Matches seamlessly. Zero String movement. Lively string @ the thinnest gauge & also the 16x20 string pattern gives slightly more power. PSLTD(56/54lbs) - Luxilon Timo 110, Babolat Vs Touch 16g ->A setup for both power from the gut & the control coming from the Timo. But once the Timo starts to 'die' the power increases (which i like surprisingly) since the racket seems to have the classic Zero power feel from the nature of the 18x20 String pat & 95" midsize. Wilson Prostaff 85(58lbs) - Technifibre X-1 18g -> One of my best classic feeling rackets. Felt tat i gone back in time to the days. The X-1 coupled perfectly with the classic double braided feel from the kelvar/graphite on the ps85. With a string pat of only 16x18. The 58lbs don't feel like 58lbs. The only problem i have is again.. moving strings... well can't be helped. But nonetheless indescribable sensation. (P.S. would like to give full gut a try )Head TGK237.1 (58lbs) - Babolat Revenge17g -> 1stly once again.. the color.. RED... After all the racket isn't a microgel but the old PC600. I never would have thought tat a full poly will feel good on a classic racket but again.. The strings displayed more control orientated characteristics & as the tension starts to go off from initial 'seasoning' of tension loss. |
