Politics & Negative behaviour in Tennis I'm a very social player & I've been around playing tennis with various groups, individuals & clubs at various venues in Klang Valley. One common thing I see are the politics involved with various groups in Tennis. This is all happening at organization, club, group & even individual level. Some of the scenarios is like below: 1. Freeloading problems with people, ie: not buying/sharing balls, not paying court rent 2. Favouritism (in a negative way) among groups on the acceptance of individuals who they take in 3. Bad mouthing people from behind 4. General selfism like : i. Hiding away good tennis deals ii. Protecting one's own gain in their tennis group/club/organization iii. Preventing others from various tennis opportunities 5. Exploiting various tennis opportunities regardless of principle 6. Talkin' bout who whooped who & who sucked 7. Roping up better players to clash with an individual/group if so happen their club, group or even themself's are not capable of beating that individual/group 8. General jealosy & whatever that is associated with it 9. Snubbing of people I see all this happening in real life & on the internet as well. I dont know if this is happening only in Malaysia as I've played with a lot of foreigners & they are real nice & doesnt exhibit any of these political habits & bad traits. Where is all the gentlemanly values that comes associated with this sport? Speak your mind on this.... thank you. |

Well I guess to avoid all these politics and negative behavior we need to go back again to the tennis etiquette guide which Z provided. You won't go wrong sticking to that. Anyway, I think in Malaysia most people start playing without noticing on the etiquette part. Hehehe....... there doesn't seem to be such thing in badminton where everything is very much simpler. Book court & shuttlecock & shared by the group. |

nah i think badminton also got problem when u hav ppl fr different levels playing... some will complain that the smashers go thru shuttles like water whereas those beginners will say they dun need a good quality shuttles. then the pros will say the beginner destroy shuttles coz hitting the feathers too much .... coz shuttles are like rm58-70 per tube nowadays.. ![]() but yar i agree that some ppl takes thing for granted as in court availabilities and also balls. gotta remember each can is abt rm10 and normally we open 2 cans.. which comes to rm20 per sesssion .. so hope erybody can really appreciate those we contribute balls and at least try to bring some or offer to belanja tat fella lah ...ahaha |

Like in sg, we'll just make it clear to share ball costs and court fees whenever we have sessions ... its something i feel would be good to implement.. ..
