Wilson is still hard to beat. A sport shop retailer told me Bab is behind. Head is pricing themselves out of competition. Dunlop is gaining market share with more friendly price tag. Hardly see people playing with Prince nowaday, Speedport and O3 sucks? Tecnifibre is making its way to Malaysian market. Volkl vanished. Pro Kennex never exist here. |

Currently its all due to popularity of those rackets due to endorsements by big name players that are making the brands come up.. I'm a tecnifibre user - Current Racket T-fight 320 VO2max.. I dont say its my favourite brand but currently this is the racket i currently like after trying quite a number of rackets.. Some smaller brands like volkl are also very good rackets but due to no big names endorsing them then nobody wants to try em.. Even Tenniswarehouse playtesters mostly use Volkl rackets and from their view are very good rackets. |

U must be strong to muscle 320g Tecnifibre. Funny that my original PS6.1 do not feel as heavy in either static and swingweight. Prince has all the while been a control racquet with lots of feel. Sadly, every since they intro O3 and Speedport. They don't feel like before. Wilson for its pop, pretty consistent with their offerings. So is Head, fame for flexy frames. Babolat primarily a baseliner stick, is getting popular now, toning down its power from Pure Drive. Not many player attack the net. The world miss serve volley players, that's why modern tennis is getting boring. Great to see Federer and Tsonga type of players to add more dimension to the game rather than bashing each other from the baseline. |

I dont see a lot of support for Prince racquets in most tennis forums. The O3 came out with a loud bang a few years back but it simmer down as quickly as we can spell 'O3'. Pro Kennex has tremendous support among 'real' enthusiasts with their Redondo, KI5 & Kinetic 5G racquets which are all pretty good racquets for people with arm problems. On the main stream I would say Wilson & Babolat has the leading edge now. |

Some factors for consideration to ensure a good selling racquet:- 1) Endorsement by popular players (not top players) 2) Beautiful paint job 3) Rave reviews by play testers 4) Reasonable price tag So among those above, Prince 03 is definitely lacking in no. 1,2 & 3. So without 1,2,3, the fourth factor wouldn't come much into play as this stick would generally not be on potential customer's mind. Just my 2 cents.

agree with ck.. just sometimes as in the case of kevin, personal preference overrides popular choice,n sometimes its just over-familiarity, like me for instance, have never used anything else but the big W all these years, have tested other sticks that i can say felt better than my current stick, but not willing to make the change.. |

my first racquet (9 years old) was a Prince but after that i've only used Wilson. at that time, Head and Dunlop's price were not as friendly as the P and W. good comment from OldGoat regarding the brands. i also felt that Babolar users are baseliner freaks. just look at nadal

I personally think that many novice players buy their tennis idol racquet. A friend just asked me the other day why didn't you buy Wilson? I am not anti Wilson. I bought a Babolat Pure Storm on offer. I needed the extra power and the low RA. Somehow, racquets are almost the same. Paint job do sell too. Marketing creates differentiation. Buy the spec not the brand. |
